What is Thermally Broken?
This refers to a thermal barrier. A high-density rubber that creates a barrier between the internal and external face of the window. Therefore ensuring the heat or cold from outside is not transferred inside.
Thermally broken steel doors are manufactured using advanced steel profiles. Window and door sections are formed from cold rolled steel. Due to the advanced system the manufacturing process is more intensive. Each door is hand made by expert craftsmen. Consequently, no two doors are alike. Windows and doors are fabricated with precision. Using advanced manufacturing techniques.
Each door is hand finished before powder coating. This results in every door being completely unique.
Original Steel doors and screens can also incorporate opening windows for added applications.
Our Original Steel thermal break profile is super slim. While being significantly deeper than other steel profiles. Therefore it can accommodate thicker glazed units. Indeed up to 37mm in thickness. In short, thicker glazed units means more energy efficient windows.
Together with the thermal break this makes the doors ultra performers. In fact, Original Steel (thermal break) windows and doors can reach U values of 1.4 W/m2K.
Like golf, the lower the U value the more energy efficient your doors are!
Original Steel doors below were made 2.62 metres high. With a double door width of 2.2 metres. Although, this is larger than we recommend. Ultimately, if the client wants it then we will do our best to help.
Original Thermally Broken Steel Doors are finished to the same high standard as all our steel doors and windows:
- Frames are finished in a durable powder coat to RAL colours.
- Special metallic finishes also available.
- Opening sections are weather stripped and sealed.
- Frames are glazed with IGUs up to 37mm thick for thermal performance.
- Selection of hardware and handles are available.
